Team Management and Multi-tenancy
Learn how to manage teams, roles, and users in Kato through the documentation. What is multi-tenant technology and what effects can be achieved through multi-tenant technology.
According to the company’s existing personnel organization structure, creating different teams, creating users for company employees and assigning appropriate permissions through roles are the first steps in using Kato.
Understand how Kato implements resource isolation through multi-tenant technology.
Private Deployment User
For users who deploy Kato privatized on their own servers (physical machines, virtual machines, Alibaba Cloud ECS, etc.), the following conditions need to be met:
Installed Kato cluster.
Completed enterprise administrator registration.
Kato Cloud Users
For users connecting to Kato Cloud, the following conditions must be met:
Has completed their own Kato cluster (self-built cluster, Automatically connect to Alibaba Cloud ACK are both available) to connect to Kato Cloud.
Create a Team
For the concept of team, please refer to team. Users need to understand how to make good use of team.
The same team can open multiple data centers and uniformly manage the team’s resources in different data centers.
Refer to Create Team for the method of creating a team.
Try to create Development Team and Test Team in the default data center.
Register users of other personnel in the company through Registration of ordinary users, and assign users to the teams created in the previous step according to the organizational structure of the company , And give the right role.
A single user can play different roles in multiple teams. If the user does not belong to a team, he will not be able to access all the resources under that team, or even see the team in the team list.
Kato uses multi-tenant technology to complete resource isolation. Each team has a tenant corresponding to it in the designated data center. Applications between different teams are invisible to each other.
