Connect to Existing Kato Cluster

This article will introduce how to add an existing Kato cluster to Kato Cloud.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, please check the following prerequisites:

  1. Understand Kato Cloud and proceed to register and Login.
  2. Kato cluster installed, please refer to High Availability Deployment Kato or Minimized Deployment Kato for installation.
  3. grctl command line tool.

Start Docking

  1. Generate the Region-Config file:
 $ grctl config > region-config.yaml && cat region-config.yaml

  1. Import the Region-Config file:

Log in to Kato Cloud, go to Cluster -> Cluster Management -> Add Cluster -> Import, and upload the Region-Config file generated above.

Add cluster parameter description:

  • Cluster ID: The unique identifier of the cluster in Kato Cloud. Once confirmed, it cannot be modified, such as kato.
  • Cluster name: The name of the cluster in Kato Cloud, which can be modified at will, for example: Development and Test Cluster.
  • Remarks: further explanation of the cluster.

Validate Results

Go to the Cluster Management page and check the status of the cluster, as shown in the following figure:

Please note that the status of the Development Test Cluster is Running, indicating that the Kato installation was successful.
